Post-smoker rental turnover
Between smoking and non-smoking tenants — UV-C treatment reduces the microbial contribution to residual smoke smell.
Cigarette smoke in a rental, dog smell in a vehicle, cooking odour in a bond-clean apartment, musty damp in an unused holiday home — the smells wiping and shampooing can't touch. UV-C attacks the airborne and embedded microbial sources of persistent odour, without adding fragrance to mask what's underneath.
Most odour treatments spray fragrance over the smell. It works for a few days. Then the underlying microbial or chemical source — the bacteria in the carpet backing, the volatile compounds in the paint, the mould in the vent — reasserts itself, and you're back where you started. UV-C works differently. Rather than adding scent, it treats the microbial sources of biological odour: the bacteria producing sulphur compounds, the mould producing musty odour, the pathogens producing organic-decomposition smells.
Third-hand smoke embeds in soft furnishings and paint for months; UV-C reduces the microbial contribution to residual smell.
Skin flora, urine bacteria, and biofilm on soft surfaces produce persistent scent beyond what shampooing can address.
Directly linked to mould and bacterial growth in damp materials; UV-C attacks the source.
Rangehood, kitchen ceiling, and adjacent surfaces accumulate a microbial layer that ordinary cleaning doesn't touch.
Between smoking and non-smoking tenants — UV-C treatment reduces the microbial contribution to residual smoke smell.
Owners moving on, tenants moving out — targeted UV-C on soft surfaces where pet odour concentrates.
Homes where an occupant was seriously ill for extended periods — reset the microbial baseline.
Rental returns, dealership stock, private sale prep — sub-60-second cabin treatment addresses persistent smell sources.
We won't oversell. Odour is a mix of microbial, volatile-chemical, and absorbed sources — UV-C helps with the microbial component. For paint-embedded smoke chemicals, unsalvageable carpet backing, or heavy urine saturation, additional intervention (repainting, replacement, extraction) may still be needed. We're upfront about this before we quote. Most jobs benefit from UV-C treatment; not every job is solved by UV-C alone.
It depends on how heavy the smoke exposure was and how many months of smoking the property saw. Light exposure: usually resolves completely. Heavy long-term exposure: UV-C helps significantly but may need to be combined with painting or replacement of the most absorbed materials.
Yes — vehicles are one of our best use cases. Full cabin treatment in under 60 seconds using our 250W unit. Works well for pet, smoke, and cooking odours.
Ozone is chemically active — it breaks down odour molecules directly, but leaves ozone residue that damages rubber, plastic, and human airways. UV-C works via photon energy without producing chemical byproducts. Safer, no material damage, and no waiting period before re-entry.
Immediately for airborne odour reduction; 24-48 hours for the full effect once residual scent settles. If a follow-up treatment is needed, we discount the second visit.
